Colin and Molly Beatty are in their 80s now, but to people who know figure skating, the married couple will always be known, in Wyse's words, as "longtime stars of the Ice Capades and Ice Follies."

04/18/2010 - Performers from Disney On Ice, competitors from national championships and future stars will show off their talents in Jamestown Skating Academy's 12th annual Excellence On Ice next month.

The production - "The Pride of Jamestown" - will feature 75 students of JSA co-directors Kirk Wyse and Lenel van den Berg. Performances are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., May 8 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena. General admission tickets are $10 and VIP on-ice table seats are $19. read more...

Bauth Shines At Jr. Nationals

12/19/2009 - STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - Jordan Bauth is scheduled to perform in the Jamestown Skating Academy's Ice Christmas on Sunday at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.

The 12-year-old has some important work to tend to before then, however.

The Lancaster Middle School student, competing in the Intermediate Ladies, finds herself in fifth place after the short program at the U.S. Junior National Figure Skating Championships at the Hoover Arena. With the long program scheduled for this afternoon, Bauth hopes to climb up the leaderboard in the 20-person field. read more...

Taylor Firth Uses Figure Skating Talent To Land Acting Job

04/26/2009 - Until two months ago, Taylor Firth's acting experience consisted of helping youngsters at her church - The Chapel at CrossPoint in Getzville - do skits as part of a drama team during Sunday morning worship services.

Beyond that, however, any performing that the Grand Island resident did was reserved for the ice at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena or in similar venues throughout North America. As one of the top 20 women's figure skaters in the United States, she was perfectly content to merely let her athleticism and her passion for the sport do her talking. read more...

01/15/2008 - Peter Max Dion is an avid fan of the world champion Boston Red Sox and has enjoyed the New England Patriots' record-setting, and unbeaten, blitz through the NFL.

"It's been a good sports season," said Dion, a 16-year-old from Lexington, Mass., which is a 10-minute drive from downtown Beantown.

Sarah Hughes, 2002 Olympic Champion skated to victory at Skate Chautauqua in 1997 and always says that Jamestown is where her 'winning streak' began. Reigning 2007 World Champion Miki Ando won gold medals at Skate Chautauqua in 2005. Kimmie Meissner, 2006 World Champion, skated to gold medals at Skate Chautauqua in 2002 and Jennifer Kirk, the 2000 Junior World Champion, was a winner in Jamestown in 1998.
