The annual CHAUTAUQUA WINTER GAMES will be held February 7 & 8, 2009 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena, Jamestown, New York. LOCATION: Jamestown is located in the southwestern corner of New York State, on Highway 86, 40 miles east of Erie, PA and 75 miles Southwest of Buffalo.
EVENTS & ELIGIBILITY: Skaters may enter as many of the listed events as they wish according to their eligibility, but only one Freeskating and Short Program Event. Skaters may choose to enter either the Competitive Test Track Event or the well-balanced free skating track, but not both during the same competition. Fees are listed below. Entries may be limited, and will be accepted in the order of the earliest postmarks.
The CHAUTAUQUA WINTER GAMES are open to USFS and Skate Canada members in good standing. Eligibility is based on USFS or Skate Canada tests passed as of January 1, 2009. The CHAUTAUQUA WINTER GAMES will be conducted according to the rules set forth in the 2007-08 USFS Rulebook. Freeskate and Short Programs for test levels Juvenile and higher will be judged using the IJS system. All other events, including Competitive Test Track, will be judged under the 6.0 system. Skaters may compete in events as qualified by their test level as of January 1, 2009 and one level higher.
PROGRAM CONTENT SHEETS: Skaters competing in a Juvenile through Senior Freeskate or Short Program must visit the US Figure Skating site to enter a Planned Program Content Sheet (PPCS) for each program. Login at U.S. Figure Skating Online, click the Online Event Reg. link, select Event Manager, then Program Content. Scroll down to Chautauqua Winter Games.
FACILITIES: The world-class Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena is on 3rd Street, Jamestown, NY. The ice rinks are both 85 x 200. A Snack Bar and Dressing rooms are available.
MUSIC: Each competitor must furnish his/her own CD, clearly labeled with the competitors name and event. Cassettes will not be accepted this year. All CDs must be turned in at time of registration. An extra copy of the competitors CD should be available at rinkside in the event of technical difficulties.
OPENING CEREMONIES: We look forward to all competitors participating in the Chautauqua Winter Games Opening Ceremonies on Saturday on the ice at Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena. All competitors should wear their club warmup suits (if possible) and skates, and may carry their club banner. We will have more specific details about the Opening Ceremonies when the schedule is emailed to you in mid-January. SKATERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR CLUBS BANNER FOR DISPLAY ON THE BARRIER DURING THE COMPETITION.
VIDEO TAPING: An official video service will be available.

SCHEDULE & PRACTICE ICE: Practice ice will be available throughout the competition at an extra fee. Please download a Practice Ice Order form.
FEE DEADLINE: All entries must be postmarked on or before January 9, 2009. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the Competition Chairperson, and must be accompanied by a $10 late fee. There is a $25 service fee for returned checks. There will be no refunds for any reason. 5 minute walk to arena.
